Telegram Voice to Text
We realize that many clinicians prefer to use voice-to-text apps for communicating with AI agents. Telegram offers a free and easy to setup app interface with AnesthesiaAI. We have elected to use a response modality that utilizes text instead of returning a voice response because we understand how annoying the reading of a text response can be to a busy person, and those in the surrounding area. Additionally, it is often helpful to retain a written response so you can verify the accuracy of the information including calculations.
Instructions for Setting up Telegram
The following description is for downloading and setting up Telegram to be a interface with AnesthesiaAI.
To download Telegram on Android, go to the Google Play Store, search for "Telegram," and tap "Install." For Apple devices, visit the App Store, search for "Telegram," and select "Get" to download. After installation, open the app and set your privacy preferences by navigating to Settings > Privacy and Security, where you can adjust who can see your phone number, profile photo, status, etc. The minimum permissions include the telephone number and the use of the microphone. It may prompt additional permissions due to individual variations in setup of devices but you should not need to grant permission to your contacts, phone history, images, or other personal information to chat with the bot. Use your own judgement as to what to allow in the public.
To start a chat, tap the pencil icon, select a contact, or enter a phone number. To find the AnesthesiaAI chatbot tap on the search bar at the top, type "anesthesiaai_bot," and select it from the results to begin chatting. You can enter queries in text just like you would send a text to any other individual. If you prefer to speak to the chatbot hold down the microphone icon to the right of the message window and speak your question slowly and clearly. Release the microphone icon once finished. The AI will translate your voice to text and then return an answer in a text format. In the future, if there is demand for a voice response please email us at info@anesthesiabraintrust.org and let us know your desire to see it added.
As always, this new feature is free and it is our hope it can bring improved anesthesia and analgesia care to your clinic.
